Welcome on CDG's unofficial Suzuki LJ80 Homepage.

In the late 70s Suzuki Motor Corp. began producing cars for the export to Europe. The vehicle shown on this page was together with the SC100 coupe the first Suzuki passenger car with LHD for Germany. It created a new niche and a trend towards small fun-oriented off-road cars. Most of its competitors were bigger and heavier (and much more expensive) but it turned out to be an easy manoeuvrable real off-roader with low cost of ownership.
I would like to present this little and unique car to you on this website.

This is an X-Ray view. With a separate frame and transfer gear case and leaf-sprung rigid axles front and rear it was really not a toy but a genuine off-road car.
The small engine displacement (800 cc, 41 hp @ 5500 rpm, 60 Nm @ 3500 rpm) was balanced out by the low curb weight.

Is anybody out there in the web who still owns or drives an LJ80? I'd be happy to receive your e-mails containing your personal experience or pictures of that car.
